Meet The Wyolina Team

The Owners - Nancy and Jeff

Nancy started the kennel in Matthews, N.C. as a high school 4-H project. After graduating

she went to Clemson University and earned a degree in Microbiology. Her first love was always

animals and she found that the corporate world was not her thing. She and Jeff made a 180

degree turn and built the kennel in 1982 She is a certified veterinary technician and has worked

in emergency and small animal clinics.

Jeff graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Chemistry. He worked in quality control

laboratories for Miller Brewing Company (where he met Nancy) and Philip Morris USA. In

addition, he had the opportunity to open several microbreweries in the early days of the

craft beer industry. Jeff is responsible for business operations, grounds, and maintenance.

Kennel Manager - Summer

Hi, my name is Summer, I’m one of the managers here at Wyolina. I've been with the company since early 2020.

Working with animals has always been my dream! The kennel is my second home and making your fur babies feel loved and comfortable while they're here with us is my main goal.

My pup's name is Wesson, he’s a mountain cur mix who I love with all my heart! I also have two mini schnauzers named Loki and Holly who are the sweetest babies.

I’m studying animal behavior and diving into dog training. In addition to being a certified dog lover, I’m also really into photography!

I'm very happy to have the opportunity to care for your pets, trust me I love them just as much as you do!

Kennel Manager - Paula

Hi, my name is Paula. I started employment with the kennel in 2010. In 2013 we added alpacas to our barn and since then I have been mainly working at the barn. You will still find me occasionally at the kennel helping out at the desk or training newcomers in the back.

Kennel Manager- Makayla

Hello, my name is Makayla. I am one of the managers here at the kennel. It’s basically my second home, I’ve worked here since April of 2021 and I love it so much! I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a bunch of other farm animals. I have a beagle named Lilly, she is my everything! I am going to be studying to become a vet tech! I can't wait to meet your fur babies!!

Kennel Technician - Gage

Hello, my name is Gage. I've worked at Wyolina for almost two years. I really enjoy my job and I love working with all the dogs and cats that come in.

Kennel Supervisor - Ashleigh

Hello, my name is Ashleigh. I'm a kennel supervisor here at Wyolina and I love it! I have 2 dogs named Yooper and Roxie as well as many other pets. My favorite dog breed would definitely be a lab because I have had multiple labs and they never disappoint with their personality and cuteness.

Kennel Supervisor - John

Hey my name is John, I'm a kennel Supervisor at Wyolina Kennels.

I have 6 dogs of my own and I'm excited to take care of your furry friends!

Kennel Technician - Abby

Hello, my name is Abby! I'm a kennel tech here at Wyolina Kennels and I'm happy I get the chance to work with your pets! I love all animals, I have a guinea pig named Possum!

Hi! I’m Kirstyn. I am a kennel tech here at Wyolina Kennels.

I have one dog named Tucker and 3 cats named Stormie, Evie, and Scoot.

Hey there! I'm Olivia. I am a police cadet with a love for animals and a passion for criminal justice. Hercules, my Boston terrier mix, and Stella, our golden husky puppy keep life exciting at home. I also have a parakeet named Cow who loves to sing James Taylor music. I have been working in pet care since 2022 and I love it so much. I'm planning to study forensic science and psychology to achieve my goal of becoming a crime scene/criminal investigator.
